My husband is a professional photographer and was naturally very excited to document the birth of our first child. The experience was bittersweet for him, however, because he had to keep his attention on his camera, rather than on me and our baby. When we were preparing for the birth of our second daughter I told him his job this time was to find another photographer to take pictures for us. He went online and found your website and was very impressed with your work (and that's saying something considering how particular he can be when it comes to photography!). Being a professional photographer myself brought a certain scrutiny to commissioning a fellow photographer for such an important and tender celebration as the birth of my baby. My wife and I and the entire medical staff at the hospital were impressed with your professionalism. My husband and I were thrilled with the photos Bill Hickey took at our daughter's birth in January 2005. Not only did we end up with hundreds of pictures to look back on, but it also allowed us to "be in the moment" of our daughter's birth. Instead of fumbling for the camera and trying to get the best shots, my husband was really able to watch and experience our daughter being born. And for me, it allowed me to see the goings on after her birth that I missed as I had a C-section. Bill captured one of a kind moments such as her being weighed, her foot printing and her swaddled up and being held by her Daddy for the first time. We enlisted Bill's services once again in March 2007 to photograph our son's birth and we were elated with the precious moments Bill was able to capture.
